The ESR COVID-19 intelligence dashboard is no longer available. The latest information on COVID-19 cases is available on the Ministry of Health website here. The Ministry of Health is the official source of information on cases.

The ESR COVID-19 dashboard was launched in 2020 and was based on information collected by Public Health Units and entered in EpiSurv. When the number of community cases increased in 2021/2022, Public Health Units stopped recording information in EpiSurv and the Ministry of Health began using other information sources instead. As a result ESR no longer has access to the information needed to update the dashboard.

ESR undertakes testing of wastewater throughout New Zealand on behalf of the Ministry for Health for the presence of SARS CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19. The ESR wastewater dashboard can be found here.
